This morning we had a late start with bagels, toast and lucky charms. We took the subway to Chelsea Market. Chelsea Market was amazing and the internal archetecture was industrial which made the environment inviting and very boutique. There was so many interesting products to look at and try. A huge range of spices created a wonderful smell that wafted throughout, alaskan king crab reminded Miss Lum about the TV show 'Deadliest Catch'.
Students had time to explore here before taking another Subway to the Rockefeller Centre. The picture of the gothic church was our meeting point, it stood out amongst the later architecture.
Lots of shopping was to be had and students insisted our generous two hours was no where enough. Jack and Ethan had a turn on the ice skating rink and made it look so easy. Some students went to the Nintendo store, there was some glass boxes showing the evolution of the gameboy and consoles.
A moderate walk took us to Grand Central Station, it was the most amazing building and was everything we expected!
We took the Subway to The Guggenheim Museum where Picasso and Gaughin had work on display. The building was amazing from the outside and even more beautiful from the inside, the gallery spiralled up from the inside which created great flow throughout.
We walked home through Central Park where we took lots of pictures of Jackie Onassis lake and saw a squirrel which was fun to see. We did not get back to the hostel until 7:00pm so had New York 18" Pizza for dinner.
Another successful and exciting day, luckily for students they get a sleep in tomorrow ready for the Brooklyn Flea Market.
